SYNOPSIS- Buffy's 20th birthday the way it should be.

AUTHOR'S NOTES- This is my 2nd attempt at a fic, so please go easy on me! I'm working on a sequel for 'True Feelings' and I hope to get it out soon! This is a little angst-y but fluffy in the end!

" Okay! Here's the Plan!" Xander was explaining to the group." The party and gifts will be at Buffy's place, then we're all going to the Bronze!"

"Xand!" Buffy said." You're sweet, but everyone knows that all my birthdays suck."

"Don't worry Buffy," Willow added." We'll make this your best birthday ever!"

'I already had my best birthday' Buffy thought as her mind drifted back to that fateful night with Angel. It seemed like it was yesterday, but it was really 3 years ago. '3 years since the best night of my life. 3 years since..'

"Hey Slayer!" Spike yelled. "Let's go! we're gonna miss the cake!"

" Remind me again why you're invited to my party?" Buffy asked impatiently.

" Because you love me!" Spike said in a sweet voice.

"Oh God. This nights just gonna be great!" Buffy said sarcastically, as they walked to Buffy's house.

" Okay! Time for presents!" Xander yelled with a goofy grin on his face! Everyone at the party was having a great time. Everyone that is.. but Buffy. She tried to have a good time but her mind kept drifting back to her 17th birthday.

Buffy opened all of her gifts and gave hugs and thank yous to everyone. She started to stand up when Willow pushed her back down.

"Wait! You have 3 gifts left." Willow said."I was on the phone with Cordelia a few days ago, and she decided to get you something. And when she brought me the gift, she told me that Angel and Wesley decided to get you something too."

'Angel got me something?' Buffy thought.

"Here's Cordy's" Xander said as he handed it to her.

Buffy opened the paper and pulled out a bunch of CDs.

"Oh great! I don't have any of these!"

Wesley's gift was a cute pink sweater that everybody was sure Cordy picked out. But now it was the moment to truth.. Angel's gift.

" Oh bloody hell! It's time for Peaches gift!" Spike said. " Everybody get the tissues!"

They all glared at Spike as Willow produced a small jewelry box from a bag behind the chair. 'Oh god, I'm not going to cry' Buffy thought to herself.

"This ones from Angel" Willow said gently.

Buffy took a deep breath and slowly opened the gray velvet box. What she saw inside took her breath away. A Claddagh ring. She couldn't keep herself from crying when she saw it. Her eyes welled, and a few tears slipped down her cheek.

" Well, crying wasn't exactly the reaction I was looking for." a voice said from another part of the room.

"Angel?" Willow asked.

"Peaches?" Spike echoed.

"Yeah" Angel answered.

" Hey man! How you doing?" Xander asked trying to distract him from the crying Buffy.

"Hey" Angel said softly as he approached her.

"Thank you Angel. Thank you soo much." Buffy said through her tears.

"That's not everything." Angel began," I also have something to tell you. Wesley just found out that my soul is permanent."

"Oh My god! Are you serious?" Buffy yelled.

Angel nodded.

"That's so wonderful" Buffy said before gently brushing her mouth against his. He responded and they kissed like they were the only 2 people in the world.

"Oh Bloody Hell! You're going to be at it for days!" Spike yelled!

Buffy and Angel just smiled before retreating up to her bedroom.

When they got to her room, Buffy kissed Angel and led him over to the bed.

"Stay with me Angel" Buffy pleaded.

"Always." Angel replied.

Buffy smiled and reached up to kiss him again. After a few moments Angel pulled away.

" Buffy" he said.

"Yeah?" she answered.

"Happy Birthday"
